Are Marketers Missing the Party?: Language and Hispanic Heritage Month

Catie S.

You probably know when Saint Patrick’s Day is. Most likely, you have an idea of when Black History month is, too. But did you know that last month (Sept. 15 – Oct. 15) was Hispanic Heritage Month? If the answer is no, don’t worry – plenty of Hispanics didn’t know, either.MORE…

Watch Your Language: The art of word choice in our digital and mobile lives

Nick I.

I’m the first to admit that I have a texting problem. But it’s comforting to know that I’m not alone. According to the Pew Research Center, the typical texter sends or receives about 42 text messages per day, which is about 1,260 text messages per month. I wasn’t fully aware of my textual behavior until a recent visit with my not-so-cellphone-savvy grandmother. MORE…

Is Your Brand Setting Trends with Community?

Amanda F.

With Paris Fashion Week in full motion, it’s a timely opportunity to think about how brands are “setting the trend.” While some fashion brands are on the Communispace roster, our clients are always, metaphorically, putting their products and services on the runway. Elisa C.

At Communispace, it’s no secret that we think a lot about developing communities: how best to facilitate them, keep members engaged, and create a safe comfortable environment for members to share thoughts and feelings that they might not share elsewhere. It’s something we pride ourselves on and honestly, we’re really good at it.

Groupon, Please Tell Me What to Do…

Nate F.

If you’re anything like me, the advent of the Groupon has been a life-changer. (OK, maybe that’s a stretch, but you’ll see what I mean.) I can’t remember the last time I went out to dinner without using a Groupon—the mere thought of doing so seems preposterous. Why would I pay for a full price dinner when I can get it for 50%-80% off?

Renewal

Don C.

After a year-plus of leading the Volunteer Committee at Communispace, I am handing over the reins to my very capable colleague, Carol Curran. This passing of the baton has led me to reflect on our company’s extraordinary volunteer accomplishments, the inherent joy in supporting life-affirming causes, and more broadly, the nature of communities.MORE…
